Despite a little snow on the roads, there was a full house at this morning's Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce "Power in Partnership" breakfast.
This month's program was the "State of the City/County" addresses from Mayor Bill Paxton and McCracken Judge Executive Van Newberry. Both leaders gave excellent presentations on accomplishments from the previous year, as well as a preview of the year ahead.
Both Paxton and Newberry addressed the need for city/county cooperation; economic development; fiscal responsibility; and quality of life. While those are the broad overview topics, both cited dozens of examples of accomplishments. The Mayor's presentation is now posted on the city's website .
EntrePaducah is proud to be one of the economic development agencies support by your city and county governments, and we thank them for being strategic and financial partners.
We're also proud to be part of this community. My friend Mary Thorsby at ilistpaducah.com often talk about the "New Paducah", and how fun it is to watch the transformation. As the Mayor said, we're "taking control of our own destiny" in all of these areas.
